The "Movers" are here!

Finally! I found an affordable mover, A-1 House movers, and met with them this past Saturday. Sammy McGee is the one in charge of moving the house and they started today. He said it will take about a week to get the house ready to move. So the beginning of next week the house should be in its new location! Any of you who are interested in watching a house be moved are welcome to come see it for yourself. I will let everyone know what day. Should be interesting. Here are a few photos of the workers and the beginning of the house moving process.

The house sits pretty low on the ground. So, they are going to have to dig to be able to get the beams under the house.

More Pictures

Here are some more pictures of the house. Please leave any comments on some ideas that you may have or if you know of any good finds that I can use on this house. Thanks!

The first picture is the dining room and the other is in the living room. I want to put an electric fireplace in the neat little corner.

This is the Jack and Jill bathroom that connects the 2 spare bedrooms. The tub is in great shape. I would like to put in a pedestal sink. There is a neat little closet in this bathroom that I am not sure what to do.

There are two "secret closets" in this house. One in the kitchen and the other in the second bathroom. I want to turn the one in the kitchen into a pantry and replace the door with a french door.

Pure Excitement!

Today I went to take pictures of the house. I was pure giddy with excitement while there. I can't wait to get started on this house.

This is what was once the den and I am going to make it into the master bedroom.

; The french doors lead it to what used to be the master bedroom. It will become the master bath.

I love this sink! I will probably keep it. What do you think?

The hardwood floors under the carpet. I hope to salvage these floors.

Hundred Dollar House

For several weeks I had seen a little white house with a for sale sign and thought to myself "what a cute house but no one will ever buy it because it was so close to the road." Actually, it was right on top of 16th Ave. So, one day I finally slowed down enough to read the for sale sign and noticed that the house needed to be moved. Just out of curiousity I called the number to see what they wanted for the house. A nice older man answered in a country voice and said "mam, all I want is a hundred dollar bill." Wow! I was so excited that I couldn't wait on the man to open up the house. So, I found a window that I could open and crawled into the house. I immediatly saw the potential. The old character and hidden little secrets made this a must have for me. I just needed a place to move it to.
Thankfully, Joe Johnson knew exactly where I could put it. He found me a lot about 250 yards behind the house. At the end of this road was a secret little 1 acre lot that was meant for this house. Just a few yards away from 16th avenue but seemed miles out in the country.
So, the house is officially mine! We are supposed to be moving it in the next couple of weeks. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.
